The Brief
A 30-acre equestrian facility home to over 40 horses needed reliable WiFi, improved security, better lighting for night chores, and automation to prevent costly errors — like doors left open causing frozen pipes or horses escaping.
The Solution
Digital Lifestyles’ Rural Technology Team evaluated the property, installed a secure high-speed network across all buildings and outdoor areas, placed high-efficiency LED lighting strategically throughout, and installed 16 high-resolution cameras with colour night vision. Sensors monitor temperature, water leakage, door status, and motion — all integrated into a single remote interface accessible from anywhere in the world.

The Brief
Calgary Accessible Housing needed a complete smart technology infrastructure for their Inclusio building — Calgary’s first fully accessible and affordable apartment complex in Capital Hill, designed for adults (18–65) with low income and limited mobility. The mandate: design a smart technology and integrated system allowing residents to have autonomy, with customized applications specific to each individual’s needs.
The Solution
Digital Lifestyles built the complete infrastructure for all 45 studio apartments — automating light switches, fans, blinds, thermostats, security systems, entertainment packages (TV, movies, music) and motorized door openers. Each resident receives a one-on-one setup session to customize the technology to their specific needs, with ongoing technical support and upgrades provided as required. All controlled through a simple interface on their phone or tablet.
The Outcome
Calgary’s first fully automated assisted living building. Technology that removes barriers and gives residents the freedom to reach their full potential. Featured on CBC News.
